Mongolian Mindset · Our Method
Let the evidence emerge.
We use cognitive functions, temperament, Interaction Styles, and cognitive fixations together to understand a person's recurring patterns. Any lens can emerge first. Nothing needs to be forced.
01 · The process
Follow the person. Cross-check the pattern.
Sometimes functions are clearest. Sometimes temperament or Interaction Styles emerge first. Sometimes several become clear together. We follow what appears abundantly across relevant examples, narrow the possibilities, and test the remaining explanations.
- Listen before labeling. Ask open questions about decisions, experiences, relationships, and goals. Record what the person says and why they acted.
- Look for recurring priorities. Give more weight to patterns across different situations than to one striking statement. Repeating the same story does not create new evidence.
- Narrow provisionally. Use the clearest evidence to compare candidates. Leave uncertain metrics open; a missing signal does not automatically eliminate a type.
- Cross-check in both directions. Use functions, temperament, Interaction Styles, and fixations to support and challenge one another. Distinguish what naturally leads from a skill the person has developed.
- Test the strongest alternative. Investigate contradictions and consider role, culture, learned behavior, and present circumstances. Reopen a candidate when new evidence warrants it.
- Explain the conclusion. Show the decisive patterns, closest alternative, and remaining uncertainty. When the evidence does not separate candidates, keep the question open.
02 · The lenses
Use every useful angle.
Cognitive functions
What does the person notice, trust, and use to evaluate a decision? Examine recurring priorities and the relationship between leading and supporting functions.
Explore Function CompassTemperament
Cross-check Abstract / Concrete, Pragmatic / Affiliative, and Systematic / Interest. Examine the reasons behind the person's approach.
Explore temperamentInteraction Styles
Observe Directing / Informing, Initiating / Responding, and Outcome / Progression. Compare communication patterns across situations, beyond confidence or sociability.
Explore Interaction StylesCognitive fixations
Consider recurring concerns around preparation and certainty, exploration and discovery, independent judgment, and external coordination.
Explore cognitive fixationsThese lenses overlap. Agreement helps organize a hypothesis; it is not several independent confirmations. An automatically inferred TypingBoard attribute is a model relationship, not another observation of the person.
03 · Our method in practice
Five people. Full conversations.
Watch the interviews and follow the questions, answers, and discussion behind each typing. The labels below are Mongolian Mindset's assigned types.
While watching, separate the guest's own examples from the interviewer's interpretation. Ask which observations support the conclusion and what other type could explain them. These sessions illustrate our practice; they are not an accuracy study.
04 · Evidence & accountability
Make the reasoning inspectable.
Evidence before stereotypes
Use specific statements, decisions, and repeated examples in context. A profession, hobby, emotional reaction, or communication habit alone cannot establish a type. For written case studies, link the source and verify quotations and timestamps.
Frameworks and attribution
Our work draws on Jungian cognitive functions, John Beebe's eight-position model, and Linda Berens' temperament and Interaction Styles frameworks. Our fixation summaries and applications are interpretive teaching tools. Dario Nardi's EEG research provides research context; it does not independently verify an interview typing or validate our assessment.
We use Systematic / Interest alongside Berens' Structure / Motive, and Progression alongside Process. Source terminology and our teaching labels should be read in context.
Sources and editorial guidanceLive typing and assessment results
A live interview lets us explore a person's examples and ask follow-up questions. The personality assessment summarizes self-reported answers. Both produce hypotheses to examine against lived experience. Confidence, agreement between frameworks, consistency over time, and measured accuracy answer different questions.
Corrections and stronger evidence
Conclusions remain open to review. Share the specific claim, the relevant source or timestamp, and the alternative explanation so the reasoning can be checked.
